Energy and Equity (reading group discussion)

The first experimental virtual reading group went well with 4 people in Lancaster and 3 on Skype. Some technical teething problems aside, we managed to have a pretty flowing and
interesting discussion of the reading ‘Energy and Equity‘ by Ivan Illich.
His bombastic, deterministic, sometimes pretty crazy writing, was generally seen as containing some provocative and thoughtful argument about the relationships between energy consumption, speed in moving around and fundamental patterns of inequality, raising questions at least that will taken forward into Project 4.1 on energy and justice.
